The SHIMANO ULTEGRA PD-R8200 brings SHIMANO’s race-proven SPD-SLR pedal platform to riders looking for high-level performance without stepping up to DURA-ACE.

Designed for everything from daily training and long-distance riding to racing, the PD-R8200 combines a lightweight injection-moulded carbon-composite body with an integrated stainless steel contact plate for a stiff, durable and supportive pedalling platform.

The wide pedal platform provides excellent stability under hard efforts, while the SPD-SLR interface delivers reliable engagement and efficient power transfer. Its low-profile design keeps the rider’s foot close to the axle, helping create a stable connection between shoe and bike.

Built around the same performance-focused architecture as the DURA-ACE PD-R9300, the ULTEGRA pedal offers an excellent balance of weight, stiffness, durability and value for riders who spend serious time on the road.

SPD-SLR: Engineered as One System

SHIMANO designed SPD-SLR shoes, cleats and pedals as a complete system to create a more direct connection between rider and bike. The redesigned cleat-to-pedal interface reduces unnecessary movement while improving stability, efficiency and confidence.

A 2.3 mm lower stack height brings the foot closer to the pedal axle, enhancing stability, power transfer and control. A wider catch zone and narrower 10.5° engagement angle, compared with 15.5° for SPD-SL, provide faster, more natural engagement when accelerating, restarting or sprinting.

The redesigned SPD-SLR cleats are also up to 25% lighter than their SPD-SL equivalents, while high-contrast alignment markings make setup and cleat positioning easier and more repeatable.
