The Parlee Altum is the type of frame that was made for real world cyclists. The wheelset is a CCACHE custom built set of HED Belgium+ laced to a set of DT350 hubs and rounded off with a 36t DT star ratchet upgrade. The wheelset was chosen for the bombproof nature and wider rim allowing modern tyre fitments. The rider also wanted conventional alloy braking surfaces to ensure the "daily" aspect is covered no matter the weather conditions. Shod on this wheelset are the limited Schwalbe One clinchers in skinwall finish. This along with the alloy brake track lends a very classic aesthetic to the build.
Stopping duties are covered by a set of venerable eeBrakes G4 providing "disc level" performance when matched with the alloy braking surfaces of the HED Belgium +. Praxis Buzzrings ensure perfect shifting when matched with the ETAP groupset which also features a medium cage for the rear derailleur shifting through a 11-30T cassette. Of special note is the YBN SLA110 black chain rounding out the drivetrain and the Fairwheels bottle cages.
Cockpit is a combination of a ZIPP SL Sprint Carbon stem clamping to a EC70 Aero handlebar wrapped with God and Famous Debossed AS-1 bartape. Finally the cable of choice are the Jagwire Elite Links in black keeping everything slick and optimal.
Seating is provided by a Berk Lupina Padded carbon saddle clamped to a Thomson Masterpiece straight seatpost.
The bike built up with great proportions which is hard to find in a frame this size usually. The classic aesthetics from the skinwall tyres + Hed Belgiums contrasts great with the modern carbon frame and rounds out the entire build perfectly.
