A Y1RS Build That Takes Things to Another Level

Bike of the Week: Y1RS Custom Build

Some bikes are built to ride fast. Others are built to look good. Then there are builds like this Y1RS, where every component has been carefully selected, right down to the smallest detail.

This build goes beyond simply choosing expensive components. Each upgrade reflects a specific performance goal, a preference for unique parts and an appreciation for the finer details that bring a custom bike together.

Lightweight Cranks and Gold Titanium Details

At the heart of the build is an X-Novanta X260 carbon crankset paired with an EK01 power meter and Carbon-Ti chainrings. Look Keo carbon ceramic pedals have been upgraded with titanium axles, while gold titanium bolts add a distinctive finishing touch.

The Dura-Ace brake calipers have been custom stripped to a silver finish and paired with Absolute Black graphene brake pads. Gold titanium pad bolts complete the setup.

Attention to Every Detail

The attention to detail continues throughout the frame and cockpit. Gold mounting hardware, an Overfast ultralight battery holder and carbon thru-axles keep the build clean and lightweight.

A Gelu bonded carbon zero-offset seatpost provides an aggressive front-centre position, while a Prologo carbon integrated saddle complements the minimalist approach.

Shimano Dura-Ace and Performance Wheels

Shimano Dura-Ace handles shifting and braking, with an Incolor B-link derailleur mount selected to increase stiffness and sharpen shifting performance.

Rolling on Syncros Capital SL Aero 60mm wheels paired with Pirelli P Zero Race TLR SLR tyres, the build combines an aerodynamic wheelset with a race-focused tyre setup.

The Finishing Touches

The smaller details are what make this build stand out. A 3D-printed titanium computer mount, ultralight bar tape and hollowed-out gold bar-end caps featuring a star motif give the cockpit a distinctive finish.

Following the photoshoot, the crankset was replaced with an SRM Origin power meter featuring a gold spider, adding another considered detail to an already highly individual build.
