The Speedvagen Disc OG is presented without preciousness. There are no frills, the Disc OG is a dedicated hand crafted tool for road riding and some racing too. It’s a workhorse. Following our Speedvagen ideology of stripping away all that isn’t necessary, we landed on a bike that is ready to rip now and easy to work on or upgrade later. The frame design uses our own Speedvagen tubing, signature seat mast, hour glass seat stays, head tube and race ready stock geometry, perfect for long days in the saddle or sprints to the line.
We always want more people on our bikes, the problem is we are unwilling to sacrifice on craft or materials. To get our costs down we had to be smart with our production. We started with our race ready stock geo and design, then we build them in batches by size in house. Finally we have all frames waiting to be finished specifically for each customer. Put in your deposit and confirm your options and upgrades, we'll take it from there- We cut the seat mast specifically to your saddle height and finish out the bike with only the braze-ons you need, giving you a clean, minimalist, and dialled ride.
Sure it might be a Ready Made, but it is the distilled essence of a custom Speedvagen. Stock geometry but with that ride quality our bikes are famous for. When we want a bike that we can ride all day, the Disc OG is where we turn. Optimized for 700x28c tires, but with clearance for 32s, the Disc OG is the road bike for todays riding style, with enough tire to get you through the weird stuff without sacrificing speed and balance.
Made from the latest technology, our new steel is to traditional steel what a Tesla is to a 60’s Ford. Speedvagen tubes are 4-6 times stronger than the tubing people typically associate with a steel bike. Because it’s stronger, it can be made lighter.
Each Speedvagen Disc OG gets our signature, designed in house and made in Oregon tapered head tube. That perfect hourglass shape isn’t just for style. The wider lower bearing handles the majority of the load on the front end, where the top bearing resists the side to side forces of the fork. Literally where form and function meet.
The integrated seatmast makes for beautiful lines. There are a couple of things that are unique to our bikes. Each length of every Speedvagen seatmast is finished specifically for its owner. We also use stainless steel around the top of the seat tube where our post head mounts, rather than the post head wearing on a painted surface. The result is lighter and cleaner than a traditional seatpost, and the collar looks great topped with our ENVE-made 2.0 Speedvagen post head, available in 20mm and 0mm offsets.
