Compass Chinook Pass Extralight Clincher Tyre - Tanwall (700 x 28mm)
Chinook Pass (1656 m/5430 ft) branches off from Cayuse Pass and leads to Eastern Washington. The road takes you up to the treeline, and as you round Tipsoo Lake, you get the most spectacular vista of Mount Rainier. The view is especially impressive in the morning, when the glaciers glow in the early sunlight.
Chinook Pass is a high pass, so there tends to be gravel left over from the last snowfalls. A slightly wider tires will make the ride here much safer and more enjoyable.
The Chinook Pass requires tubes - Compass recommends Schwalbe SV15 or SV20 tubes.
Compass tires combine the performance of high-end tubular tires with the convenience of clinchers and the width needed for allroad riding. Our supple casings roll smoothly over surface irregularities. They absorb less energy as they deform with each tire revolution. Compass tires make your bike feel alive. From the first meters, you will notice the difference.
Compass tires are well-suited for everyday use. The tread pattern interlocks with the road surface for superb cornering grip, whether your roads are wet or dry. The tread is 3 mm thick in the center to last many miles, but thin and supple on the shoulders where it doesn’t wear. Choose the widest tires your bike can fit for more speed on rough roads, better cornering grip, more comfort and fewer flats. (Wide tires roll over debris that gets hammered into narrower tires.)
The Extralight casings take the performance, comfort and feel of your bike to an entirely new level. Once you have a set of Compass tires, you won’t be able to go back to “normal” tires!
