*** Compass is now known as Rene Herse ***

Our most iconic 650B tire has a perfect balance of on-pavement grip and off-pavement volume. We name our tires after the passes in the Cascade Mountains that have inspired them: Babyshoe Pass (photo) runs between the great volcanoes of Mount St. Helens and Mount Adams in the Cascade Range. This long climb on a gravel road provides a back-door way from Seattle to Portland, avoiding the crowded Puget Lowland. As you climb out of the dense evergreen forests, the mountain vistas open up, and you see glimpses of Mount Adams.

For this challenging ride, you will appreciate the Babyshoe Pass TC, which rolls as fast as a racing tire on the paved lower sections of the climb, yet floats over the gravel on the higher parts.

All Rene Herse tires combine the performance of high-end tubular tires with the convenience of clinchers and the width for all-road riding. The Standard casing is our more affordable option: comfortable and fast, yet also strong to withstand considerable abuse.

The Babyshoe Pass TC is tubeless-compatible. When used with tubes, Compass recommend Schwalbe SV14A tubes.
